COLLEGE PARK, Md., Nov. 12 (ZFJ) — Rapper Adamn Killa visited the University of Maryland, College Park, during homecoming festivities on Oct. 31.

The Chicago rapper, whose real name is Adam Kelly, has gone viral on social media. His popular content includes shorts where he says “if you a ___ baddie, this is for you” (inserting many adjectives in the blank space) and does a dance where he moves his clasped hands around his head in a circle. He also does shorts where he goes up to law enforcement officers and National Guardsmen, says “arrest me daddy,” and puts his hands behind his back. These shorts are accompanied by his song, “Fall On.”

Killa first posted on Oct. 30 to ask “What college should I come to tomorrow in the dmv,” and he received many comments asking him to come to UMD.

The next morning, he confirmed that he would arrive at McKeldin Mall at about 3:00 p.m., causing excitement on YikYak. The university’s homecoming carnival was occurring on the mall on the same day.

True to his word, Killa was spotted at the side of McKeldin Mall near H.J. Patterson Hall at his announced time. ZFJ editor-in-chief Alvin Wu saw a crowd of hundreds of students running at the same time to his location and regrets that he did not take the opportunity to try to get a limited free homecoming scarf.

Killa hyped up the crowd, recorded several of his trademark videos, and promoted his Halloween party in Bethesda later that day. Wu saw many UMD students take the opportunity to take selfies with the rapper and get their items signed by him.

Having been well-received by his fans on campus, Killa stuck around for about 45 minutes before he departed to Bethesda. The ZFJ last saw him heading in the direction of STAMP Student Union.

UMD student and Adamn Killa fan Ronak Chauhan told the ZFJ that he ran from McKeldin Mall to halfway down STAMP Hill in order to get a selfie with the rapper.

“I think it’s great that he shows up for his fans, he makes fans like this, and it leads to events like this where we’re all hyped about one thing,” Chauhan said.
